How to make tea.

Walt: write explanation.

Tea was first made in China.  Then the British took the credit for making tea. British and Chinese make their tea different. Making tea can taste strong or weak.

First, get everything that is needed to make tea. Grab milk, a kettle with water, a tea bag, sugar and a cup. Also grab a teaspoon for the sugar and for mixing.

Secondly boil the water in the kettle. Then drop the tea bag in the tea cup. Add the hot water. Wait for a few seconds to let the boiled water brew  with the the tea bag. Then pour the milk and add sugar …... Only if you want milk and sugar.

When its done, enjoy the tea with some biscuits. It is a good combination. That is how to make tea.

How to play Ripper Rugby.

Ripper rugby is a sport that most people play at the beach or at the park. Ripper Rugby is a safe game, it not like rugby.

Ripper rugby is a game that needs two teams to play because without 2 teams how are you going to play rippa rugby. Also rippa rugby needs a rugby ball, not a tennis ball or a basketball. The people who are playing ripper rugby, need a coach or a referee to manage the game and also need tags, it has to be 2 different colours to show what team the children are in.

To play ripper rugby, the person who has the ball taps before you run.  Before the 2 teams play Ripper rugby, the team needs to find some space to play.  When the person tag comes off because the team that your team are playing against took it off, then pass the ball to your team mate, not the other team.  You only give the ball to the other team if the person knocked it on.  That means it’s the other team ball.  Don’t pass the ball to the teammate when they are in the front. Pass the ball backwards to your teammate. To get a try, try and pass the ball to your teammate while your tag hasn’t come off.  

Ripper rugby is a fun sport.  It good to play it in the park with your whole family.

This is a picture of 5 different type of muffins. I mostly enjoyed the apricot, it was really nice and yummy.  I find the apple muffin not really yummy because it was dry.

Robin Williams

Walt: write a paragraph on Robin Williams.

Robin Williams is the funniest person in earth in all of his movies. I enjoyed laughing, while I was watching his movies.  Robin Williams died of an age of 63.  On the news it’s seems that Robin Williams had hung himself, which was really sad. Mrs. Doubtfire is one of Robin Williams and it’s about him dressed as a nanny, so he could still have some great time with his kids. When he came to NZ, I was shocked, I wanted to see him to face to face but I didn’t had that chances.  I like how he act in his movie because it’s really funny. He inspired me with his funny action and voice.

How do you think NZ did in the Commonwealth Games?

As you know, England was first.  In the people/medal count, New Zealand is first on the list because the population /medal ratio is the smallest.  England has millions of people and 174 medal.

3 days at Saint Kentigern

I had a great time at Saint Kentigern. I has hoping it would be 1 week but the Saint Kentigern only provided for 3 days and I'm glade and okay that our school was invited. Thanks to the Saint Kentigern kids for spending their holiday on provided us some fun activity. I really had fun and enjoyed playing shoots with some Saint Kentigern girls.

I want to be a Millionaire

If I was a millionaire, I’ll buy my family what they want, so I can go to Australia to live with my uncle. Australia is a cheap country to buy special things like I wanted a Iphone 5’s and it only cost $300 but in NZ it’s $1239.99.  I have to be good with money or else my money will be gone. Before I leave from New Zealand to go  Australia I will give my dad 100 thousand dollars just because they look after me and they also deserve it because they also use their money on me. I’ll probably give my grandparents 50 thousands dollars because they have always looked after my mum, my sister and I.  I basically live with them and that they have the ability to have some time to come and see my goals at school.

I always wanted to be a millionaire because there’s a lot of stuff that I can buy.  If I had millions in my hands first I’ll buy me Mcdonald's because I have loved Mcdonald's as much I love my sister. It will be so awesome to have a millionaire but be careful what your spending because if you spend it all on one day, their will be no money for tomorrow. Think before you spend your money.

Dental Presentation

Today we had a visitor who was here to tell us interesting facts about teeth.  Her name was Mrs Wallbridge.  Mrs Wallbridge had some unexpected facts about teeth that I didn’t know.

I didn’t know that when your tooth gets knocked out from an accident, there is a possible way to put it back in so that the new tooth can grow underneath it. So Mrs Wallbridge gave us an advice. Once your tooth comes off you wash it with warm water before you put it back in your gum. When you put it in, first you have to make your gum stop bleeding by placing a tissue like fabric in the place where your tooth came out. Then you put your tooth back into your gum. If you have an accident, quickly do the same thing so you won’t look ugly just because of your missing tooth. Especially when you play sports there are many accidents like getting hurt and your tooth will fall out.

Tooth Traditions around the world.

This is about different cultures have their own teeth tradition.  

English and Aboriginals have the  common tooth traditions.  Both cultures believe in tooth fairy. .  Kids who are English or Aboriginals, put their tooth under the pillow at night time.  Next morning the tooth is gone and the lucky person will get a money.  

Spanish kids also put their loose teeth under their pillow. This is really funny but did you know that Spanish kids believe in a little mouse name Ratoncito Perez. That is really weird for me because who will believe that a little mouse will exchange a tooth  for a lolly or money.

Afghanistan has no belief in tooth fairies. When a child  loses a tooth they throw it into a rat or mouse hole.  They do believe that the rats need it to make their teeth nice and strong.  To be honest, I think that’s a little bit crazy.

I had no idea but in Korea, children throw their teeth on top of their roof and sing a song that goes like this, “Blackbird, blackbird my old tooth I give to you. Bring me a new tooth”.  I really don’t believe in any of this because while you growing up, you know that you will have new teeth.

Basically, many culture use their tooth for a reason.  Like to exchange for money or lollies, or probably throw it onto the roof for a new adult teeth like some culture. According to web, most child might lose their primary teeth when they are 6, to have some space for the permanent teeth.

We need mouthguard when playing sports

Walt: write a persuasive speech.

A mouthguard is a protective device to keep our teeth safe. A mouthguard is mandatory to sports.  So really you have no choice. Sports that will prevent damage to their teeth will really need a mouthguard.  Wearing a mouthguard is not just to protect your teeth, but also your lips, cheeks and your tongue.

Needing a mouth guard is very important because really you don’t want to lose your teeth. So if you were smart enough you will choose to wear a mouthguard, so nothing will damage the part of your teeth. The good thing is that it doesn’t cost a lot but if you go to the dentist it may cost around $200 or more.

The best time to wear mouthguard is when you play sports like hockey, softball, rugby, league, boxing and soccer.  All of these sport are related to hard out playing, which can cause an injury. People don’t always feel hurt, but they can have also have a sad feeling.  

I strongly believe that mouthguard is a protective device so the best thing for kids safety, the school should add mouthguard to their list because teacher wouldn’t like to see anyone get hurt because its not their job to care.

On Friday, it was Race Relations Day and half of Glen Innes School came in the cultural costume.  Mrs Gounder was telling us about herself.  She is a Fijian Indian. She came to New Zealand from Fiji. She is a teacher who teaches in room 3.

Natasha Shackleton is an New Zealand artists. Natasha draws anything from landscapes to vehicles. She uses paint brushes, pencil and paint. I am inspired by her amazing art. She is passionate about art and creativity in her entire life. She is a tattooist as well. She paints and draws at home.

What do you need to play softball

Walt: write an explanation.

Explain: what you need to play softball.

The most important thing about softball is two teams because  how are you going to play when there's no teams to verse each other and how are you going to play without a softball equipment and where are you going to field.

First, both team need safety gears to protect their skin.  Next, both team are on the field where they are set. 1 team is bat and the other is fielding.  But before the game starts, the team that's are fielding, need to sort out the diamond, so there’s 4 bases.  So there’s a base 1, a base 2 and a base 3.  The base 4 is a home.

Next, there should be a referee so it can control the game and there will be no cheating.

Then, the first team to bat is to not throw the bat because it might hit the backstop. So you need to hold the bat tight and strong so when the ball is coming to the person that is batting, the person need to hit the ball with bat that’s why bat are part of softball.

The team on field need to catch the ball so the person is out. The, pitcher needs to have a ball so the team is batting can hit the ball.  

Softball is a fun sport and you need to have the equipment to play softball and how are you going to play if you don’t have a field.
