Ghost

Today's lesson was about tessellation. I did a ghost. The idea I found from the internet. It's unique to the others in the class because no one else did that. I want to do more tessellation like this!

Sport Camp

Tarte Tatin 2

When we was finish with the apple and the piling.  Miss gave each group a butter.  She puts it into the fraying pan.

Then 1 person pours the apple into the fraying pan.   After that, we took the fraying pan to the oven. After when they cook the apple and batter.  They took it out then made spots on a pastry.  Then 1 person flip it over and then lay the pastry on to the apple, which is in the pan. Once again they go into the oven for a few minutes and while that's cooking you get to do something while the Tarte Tatin is still cooking.

Today, Room 11 and I was making Tarte Tatin.  This is how we make Tarte Tatin.  Before we get the apples we went to wash our hands.  Then, we have to get apples and the apples was cut into halves.  So each group have to grab 8 apples out of the fruit box.   Each person get to pill the skin off and then they get to cut into half. We used a knife to cut the apple.

Maths game

I find that this game is fun but too easy.  Trying to get the same weight was easy but I never I find it difficult.  But I enjoy it and did know how to get them the same weight. The weight maybe not the same but its stills close to the answer.

Fireworks

This story is about a young girl called Kelly.  Kelly actually found something that shouldn’t be there.  That was a red spots lighter.  Kelly didn’t know anything about lighter.  So she decided to play with it. It was so close that James stopped her from playing with it.

Tomorrow, it’s going to be Kelly’s final soccer game and it going to be fireworks day.  So mum decided for tomorrows night, they are going to do some fireworks just straight after Kelly’s game.  Mum was all excited and happy that Kelly is in the final.  So mum was hurried to do the fireworks for tomorrows night.  But mum dropped something that shouldn’t been left.  Then she just put everything into the box and the box were full of fireworks.

Next morning, Kelly woke up and she got ready for the final game but after she got ready she kicked her ball just right at the corner next to the bin and she reached and reached but all she could see was her ball and a lonely lighter.  She got the ball but she didn’t want to leave the lighter alone, so she decided to take with her.  But she didn’t know what to do with it so she started to play with it.

Mum screamed,”Kelly, are you ready?.”

“Yes, Mum” replied Kelly.  

Kelly ran fast as she could so she won’t be late like last time.  But first she quickly hid the lighter

They won! It was close 25 to Kelly’s team and 24 to Sam’s team.  It was a good game.

As soon as they came back, Kelly ran to find a hiding spot so she can have alone time with the lighter. It was getting dark and mum was getting ready for the fireworks. James walked and walked across the hallway but he could smell burn from Kelly’s room.  So James ran and ran to Kelly’s door and fast he opens it and stop Kelly from playing with the lighter and James took the lighter of Kelly and straight gave it to mum.  

Mum was shocked because she thought that she had the lighter and blame Kelly because she sneak into the room and saw some fireworks and took the lighter. But it was mum’s fault for being hurried. So they didn’t want to talk about it because it was a day for fireworks.  They started by counting 10 to “1. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1” Boom! Boom! there goes the fireworks.

  Theme: Be careful what you have because you might not know that one of your kids will find it and you’ll go wild.

This is a story about three girls who took someone else’s performance and decided to use it for their performances.

The bell rung and rung.  All students were crazy in the hallway.  A lonely girl was left in the hallway.  Well actually, she was new.  Her name is Claudia.  She’s a talented girl and she sang like a bird on a tree.  Across the hallway

Claudia screamed, “Hey, can you help me?”

Claudia ran fast like Usain Bolt.

“How do you get to Room 11?” asked Claudia.  

“Well go straight and turn left and you're there.” answered Pakii.  

“Thank you,” smiled Claudia.  His name is Pakii.  Pakii is  talented at singing but also good at playing  the guitar.

Claudia was welcomed  to Room 11.  She was pretty nervous but she  tried and got along. She sat on her desk with gums underneath and dirt on top.   On the wall there was a post and it says “If you're talented come along and try out on GI go talent”.  Claudia smiled and decided to give it a try.  So GI got talent is on this Saturday night but at 6.30pm.  Every single day she sings but she decided for her talent she is going to dance.  The last time she danced was when she was 13 years old.  She gave up because work and study was important because mum and dad didn’t like the music. That wasn’t their thing.  So they got upset and it was all up to Claudia. If she want to study or give up and dance. But Claudia decided to quit dancing but she sings.

One day, the three girls were walking and walking past Claudia’s house.  They heard music from Claudia’s place. So the girls watched and watched.

Two more days until GI got talent.  You could hear the music that got really into your bones.  She danced like a hip pop star.  Whenever, she practiced dancing the girls were watching every move and act that she owned. It was hard for Claudia because she trained and worked hard for this talent show.

The show started at 6.30 pm. Claudia was nervous as she watching everyone’s performance and none of the people made in. The girls were on stage. Wow! They dance, they smile and they were happy.  But someone wasn’t happy. Claudia cried. But there was only one thing for Claudia to performance. Claudia sang her song and everyone were happy and clapping.  It was fantastic. It was amazing and she won the prize.  Claudia was happy.  As soon she got home Mum and Dad know that she was going to win because of her beautiful voice.  

Its is not good to steal someone else’s performance.  It’s good to make your own performance because you might not know if you will win or not, If you did steal someone’s performance you might not know that theres another talent that shes also good at.

Perimeter

You have to find out what what's the perimeter of k and you have to answer. My answer is 6 because its like obesity. Its 6 km and I just got that answer right. I find interesting and sometimes hard.  

Yummy treats

Halloween is a little scary but feeling yummy when I get treats.
Halloween is really interesting to see many different costumes that childrens makes.  Halloween is also called All saints’ Eve or All Hallows’ Eve.
When I first known halloween, I thought it was a celebration to have fun with your family.  But it was a fun and scary halloween and when you tricky treat.
I have to say I love halloween for some reason maybe because I love lollies and treats.

The last time I when tricky treat was with Sina, Agnes and Anau my sister and I was a Vampire.  We went around eastview and up apriana.  
Its was yummy because we get to have delicious and tasty treats.  
For myself and I, I feel that Halloween isn’t that scary but it was yum. Its funny because I don’t see that much scary costumes.

This year I want to be scared and get frighten of peoples costumes.  I want to feel welcome to Halloween and become frighten.

XP Maths

All I did was add them in length like 4 x 8 = 32 because theres 4 areas and 8 lengths. Using your timetable maybe not work for this site. To me I sometimes get them wrong because I always guess but its best if I learn then I won’t get them wrong so many times.

Multi and divisions

This is an easy game but when it get faster its hard start to get challenging. It’s just like learning your timetables.  This game is for a year 4 years .  I enjoy this game and I also enjoy learning maths.  

Claudia and Tainah's trip

Watching the sea going over one another.  Looking at the bird on the tree singing.  Eating my food made me full. It was delicious and tasty but going for a swim made me cold.  “ Hey, Tainah “said Claudia. “ Hey, Claudia “said Tainah.  “ It’s a wonderful day, don’t you think “ smiled Tainah.  “ Look up the mountain “ says Claudia.  Tainah said “ do you want to go for a walk onto the mountain “ Yeah sure, what are we waiting for come on lets go “said Claudia.

So they reached to the top of the mountain. They found a spot to sit and next to them there was a stone to cook so they decided to cook sausages and paddy.  So they, ate there sausages and paddy.  Well they enjoy their time so it was going late so they packed and started to walk.  So they walk 135 metres away where they were.  But something was burning and as you can see up in the sky Claudia and Tainah could she the fire.  “ look, up the trees they are burning “ said Tainah.  “ I know, I can see that “said Claudia.  

“ Oh, no Tainah you forgot to turn off the stone “ said Claudia.  “ That’s right, what are we going to do “said Tainah.  So they think and think but they still couldn’t come up with an idea.  “ Tainah do you have your phone “said Claudia.  “ No, sorry I didn’t brought it because I thought that i might wet it “ said Tainah.  “Oh, no” said Claudia.  So they found someone that has a huge and long hose. “ Well, hello handsome, will you please help me “ said Claudia.  Tainah said” you meant us “ “Yeah, thats what I meant, sorry!” said Claudia.   Tainah, Claudia and Pakii were carrying it to the tree and started to hoses it. Lucky it was on 3 trees that were on fired.  “Oh heres my phone “said Tainah.  “Tainah!, well lucky we found this handsome man” said Claudia.  “ Well, thank you “said Pakii.

Next time Tainah should remember to turn off the stone after when they finished using it.  But lucky they are still alive.  Well at least Claudia found someone in her life.

Superman

It was pretty cool, when superman flyed in the air.  Everyone was laughing.  Superman is a tip of a superhero for a saving people from getting bullied.  I think he was too skinny for a superman.  

Kaho and the big bully.

It was, it funny and it was today.  I really had a great time and I also was enjoying my lollies too.  Room 11 and 12 was smiling, laughing and also had a great time.  To be honest I thought that Genesis was a story to watch and listen.  But I thought wrong and it was above amazing and funny.  I really had fun and I had a wonderful day.

Genesis

It was, it funny and it was today.  I really had a great time and I also was enjoying my lollies too.  Room 11 and 12 was smiling, laughing and also had a great time.  To be honest I thought that Genesis was a story to watch and listen.  But I thought wrong and it was above amazing and funny.  I really had fun and I had a wonderful day.

Sports Camp: Embarrassment

I was standing on the wet grass in  front of 100  people from 7 different school and could not believe what I was seeing.  Tainah was performing an unrehearsed haka.  She performed at Totara Springs.  Well she was embarrassed to do the  haka although she’s wearing a Maori costume.  Tainah looked at the crowd and felt scared.  She started to perform. It was funny! It was amazing! It was fantastic! Tainah made the crowd go crazy.

When Tainah finished her performance, she  cried because everyone was laughing at her. The bell went and Tainah needed to go volleyball.  She only took one step, and everyone started to do the haka. Tainah kept on crying.  It was sad and funny at the same time.

When Glen Innes School was playing volleyball t against Weymouth they were four points down. Tainah was requested to join the volleyball team on court. Tainah focused and served a no return ball. There was a 3 point difference now. Two serves and a return spike got GI to equal  the score. Her team mates were encouraging her to concentrate and close the game. She won  the crucial point and GI  won the game. Her team hugged and high five each other. Underlay,Underlay was all one could hear.Glen Innes had won and the crowd just went crazy. Tainah was hoping she could  carry  play with  the same passion in the finals.

Well Tainah forgot about the embarrassment of the impromptu haka. She was glad that she could help her team. She was so proud of her passionate haka and her volleyball game.

Impetigo

Walt: study skin infections.

Impetigo is a skin infection caused by bacteria. It is most common to kids. It has yellow pus that oozes out of it.  We can tell by the yellow pus. A doctor might give you something like antibiotics to take care of it.

Why can't I win?

This game wasn’t tricky or hard, all I have to do is answer the question and click the next arrow to get to the next question.  I think I answer the question really well.  This game wasn’t fair her and sister because there were more reds and less blue thats why she always win so this game wasn’t a fair game.

This game is spinning probability.  While I’ve chosen the one on the top because it’s the probability of the pointer not landing on blue in 7/10. It’s because there were no landing on the blue in 7/10. So I got that right. It was really difficult I have to say because to be honest this game was like a probability which it is and I don’t know much about probability.

Smelly boy

Walt: write a story with a theme” always take care of your skin”

There was a big boy called Willy Wonka and he’s pretty ugly and smelly.  While, he never had a shower even though he’s mum told him.  Willy Wonkas mum was too upset when she told him how many times to go for a shower.  So she never bother to.   

Willy never wanted to hope into the shower and he always touches germs, diseases and he does feel itchy, like all the time.  He look like the monster that just came from the jungle but While few days ago, he was very sick, unhealthy and ugly.  So he ran from GI centre worst.  He always gets hurt and thinks that he got the power to heal problems, while No!.  Everyone never wanted to be his friend but he never cares.  He never wanted to be clean and smell nice and fresh but all he was, was the opposite.

to home, and he screamed” Mum Mum! “.  While mum wasn’t home, so he was so badly sick.  So in 20 seconds Willy ran fast to the hospital like Usain bolt.  He got there and screamed” Help Help “. So a nurse came to help and her name was Miss Clear.  Miss clear asked” what happen “ and Willy Wonka said” I’m badly sick, please help me I don’t want to die“ and Miss Clear said” Yes!, I’ll help you and No! you won’t die, you came at the right time so well done and you do look really bad and smelly”.

So Miss Clear gave him water then told him to go to sleep, then gave him a infections to make him better. While she notices that he really smells so bad, so he really need to go for a good shower.  So as soon Willy woke up his mum was holding his hand so tightly and Mum told him if you don’t go shower, you know you’ll get even worst.  So Mum took him home and took his medicine and then Mum went to get some food.  Willy went to hoop in the shower and got some soap and then turn on the shower.  He wiped his body as clean as its done then got his towel and dry his body for 15 minutes then put some clothes on.  While when he was done he looked smart and cool and smells better than before.  So when mum came back she was very spires for him and happily after they ate together as a mum and son.

Interpret Graph

This game is Interpret graph.  While this game all you have to do, you have to read than answer the question.  My answer was 1 because as you can see in the graph in 5 there are 1 spun and it was right.  While that was easy but I couldn’t find out what was difficult.  

Tony Williams New Zealand Author

Walt: look for information about Tony Williams NZ Author.

Tony Williams is one of the famous author in New Zealand. He creates stories and goes all around New Zealand visiting schools. Tony Williams makes different types of stories like his first book was about an alien that had to go to school after he got thrown out of galaxy. That book was called Fizz the Wildest Boy in Universe. I have never read any of Tony’s books but I would like to know more all about his journals. While today his coming to tell us all about him and all his books.  I think he's a really interesting and an inspired author.  Tony is also makes stories about sport and I love sport and before he became an author he was a journalist.  So used to work as in a nz paper and that’s brillants

Travel Wise

Today was a really fun day because we were on a travel wise.  So we talk to random people when they are driving safely or people who drives fast.  While as you can there were 61 bad drivers that drives over the limit and thats not good so my friend and I our job is to do is we have to talk to them why we should drive slowly and why you drove safely.  The reason why is because children and other people are walking and crossing the road and we want people to drive safe and not fast.  Its really dangerous when children are crossing the road and the drivers are driving over the limit, so its really awesome if you drive safe.  So there were more dad drivers then good drivers.  

Spin the paper clip

I think that this game that we were playing was unfair.  Its because there were more red and less green.  So it wasn’t an unfair game.  We spin and its mostly land on the red.  While it less landed on green.  Mikayla and I work in group and we decide to divided it into 5’s part and there were 3 greens and 2 reds.  So we each gets to spin and we each have to spin it 30 times.  So we gets to spin 15 times each to make 30.  While the total were 22 reds and 8 greens.  We made them into a tally chart.  We both had to find out how we can make it into a decimal, fraction and a percentages.  So we used a calculator to work it out. It was really easy me to used the calculator. In a percentages it was 73.3% in 22, and it was 26.6% in 8.  

Grammar

In Reading, I have to find out what will fit in the gap to fit in the sentences.  While I chosen a comma and it did match the sentences.  So I pressed splattered to join the sentences.

Probably a Favourite

This game is how many does she wants to eat in fractions.  While she chosen a butter toffee candy and my answer was she will get 3 quarters.  So I clicked taste and she liked it and that was good.  The left 1 was a chocolate toffee candy.

Inspirational person Helen Clark

Walt: use our research to write an essay on an inspirational person.

My inspire person is Helen Clark.  Helen Clark really inspires me because she stays focused and doesn’t shows off.  Helen Clark was the 1st woman elected, as a prime minister from 1999 to 2008.  So she was a prime minister for 9 years.

While, Helen Elizabeth Clark was born 26 of february 1950, Hamilton, NZ. While she is married to Peter Davis, a professor at Auckland University.  She seems that she was the 5th longest serving person to hold that office of the prime minister immediately following an election. She has been administrator of the United Nations Development Programme in April 2009.  Helen Clark was the 3th highest position, since 2009 and I think that she went far in the world.  While me, No! I’m not like her.

Clarke has always been known for her strong personality and outspoken views and I wish that I was like her one day.  Helen Clark was the eldest of four daughter of a Waikato farming family.  Her lovely mother Margaret McMurray of Irish birth, was a primary school teacher. Helen’s father, George was a farmer.  She was the educated at Epsom girl’s Grammar school.  Helen Clark was one of the best leader that the labour party has overhead from 1993 to 2008.

I can see that she’s really commented on her work.  She also has a very entertaining personality.  I feel that Helen Clark is a really a interesting person to me because everything about her is awesome and exploring.

Bright Balloons

Walt: make predictions on data collected identify all possible outcomes.

Today, I was learning about making prediction.  In this game without Bear looking, I had to click the less likely coloured balloons.  I clicked the purple balloon because there were less likely balloons and there’s mostly yellow balloons.  To me, its really easy but when we play a game when theres 10 cubes that red and orange colours. We have to pull out a cube without looking and when I say red it was a orange so it was really tricky.

Tally Chart

For this week, we are learning to make a tally chart as you can see.  While, actually the lowest term in the tally chart is Good news.  The highest term is Bad news while it seems that there must of been bad news.  The second lowest term is Mixed news so there must of been good news or bad news.  While the second highest terms is Neutral new so maybe theres a confusing news.

As I can see this, it seems that its Neutral for me because the least the good news the bigger the bad news.  Maybe its tricky. I think this is really for me to understand because its really hard for me to explain what's going on and why?.  

Character Study - Darren

Darren is a young boy thats really scared and I’ll tell you why.  So first he lives with his Mum and he is about to go to Bess’s house for a sleepover. While actually the problem is that he's really scared of Bess because he says she’s big, she’s mean and she’s my cousin.

When mum called him to hurry he noticed that Mum was really angry but don’t know why.  Da-da-DUM! thats the sound when his scared. So he drums and drums.  So when he got to Bess’s place he felt even frightened.  He was scared of Bess and the darkness.  So the bedroom that he was sleeping in was the room that had no celing light.  Aunt Billie is Bess’s mum.  That night Aunt Billie bring a lamp light for him to she in the dark.  Darren was so scared that actually he couldn't brave or eat his spits.  When Pop called him he quickly ran down stairs and they talk and talk.

  

Happily after he had a chances to sleep and that time he wasn’t scared.

I have to find out what will match the sentence to get it right, while I’ve chosen Likely because they are likely the same so I did got it right.  To be honest, I think this site is pretty hard for me to understand because actually I’m not a good reader, so at less I’ve tried.   I don’t really know maths language but still, I’m learning.  While I think that every question they gave me to answer its really hard to find what was the problem and I think its my understanding. If I practices every time get better and I’ll understand.

Sumatran Tiger

On August 28, a Sumatran tiger had cancer which was really sad for all the people who took care of Cantik. Cantik came from Burger’s Zoo from the Netherlands. Wellington’s Zoo staff was really depressed when Cantik passed away.   

I really felt the same for Cantik. In the wild, tigers can only live for 10 years. When tigers are in the zoo they can live for over 20 years because the zookeepers take care of them.  Cantik means “beautiful” in Indonesian language. Tigers are the biggest cats in the world. Sumatran tigers are the tiniest species of all tigers.

I chose Great-grandma because she was the main character and she was telling the story to hannah.  She was sharing her story with Hannah.  Great-grandma was one of them in the story.  She was the one that held her breath when her ship was sinking.  While it was about a whale child.  The whale child was with Great-grandma in the ship but no she was filled out of the ship.  So those people who came with her was turn into seleten.  While she was in the sea until 4 years.  Great-grandma went back to fetch her.  So happily after they got back where they belong.

Prevention is better than cure

On  6 August, Dr Alison Leversha came to Glen Innes School.  She is  a doctor from Starship Hospital. She told us to tell our parents when we had a sore throat.

Afterwards, Awen Guttenbeil told us about his experience with rheumatic fever. When he was 9 years old he had rheumatic fever. He had a sore throat but did not want to tell his parents. So the next day, he couldn’t move and couldn’t talk.  Its because when you have a sore throat will later on if not treated, will become Rheumatic Fever. Next mum was in a hurry to take Awen to the doctor.

Sione Lousi was the one who had a problem with his throat so the nurse told him to say ahhh, while Sione didn’t know how to say that. Steve Rapeta and Ben Henry helped him so everyone said” ahhh “, Sione Lewis said” ahh “.  

When you wash your hands, first you get a soap and sing a song like happy birthday.  Then you turn on the tap and wash hands. When you're finished you clean your hands with a towel.
